The Disingenuous Centaur: A Pub by Jackson and Emms

This past weekend, I went over to Risca, near Cardiff (the capital of Wales) to visit one of my best friends, Andrew Emms. Since I'd stayed with him and his family one and a half years ago, I didn't really feel the need to do any more touristy kinds of things around Cardiff. Essentially, therefore, I ended up relaxing with Mr. Emms around town for much of the visit. Read more...

Week 5ish?

Monday morning I got back from Amsterdam, which took 5 hours and 8 different points of transportation: car, train, airport, plane, airport, shuttle, train, tube, walking. It was pretty boring...but I made it back before class even with a 45 minute delay on my flight. After class, which we had in the park since it was lovely outside, we all went back to the flat and watched 'Shakespeare in Love', to prepare us for seeing 'Romeo and Juliet' later in the week. Amsterdam Part One- Holland Wins, Dylan Fails

Whenever I talked to any of my friends who had studied in Europe, I would ask them what their favorite city was and the near unanimous answer was Amsterdam. So although many parts of the first month of this trip were great, I was waiting for the Amsterdam trip because I knew it was going to be a crazy and incredible experience and looking back I think I may have underestimated it just a bit. Art or Vandalism?

I had been looking forward to going to this graffiti museum since our professor Jay had told our class. My dad would be jealous. (Bennett and I cannot figure out how to form this sentence so I am leaving it random. Sorry bout it.) Every family trip we take, if there is graffiti, my dad loves to have one of the four kids pose in front of it. If you don’t pose, it will not make it to the living room display. Sorry not sorry. Two(ish) Weeks
By Jackson Breyer

I'm about to recap two action-packed weeks in one post, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to leave out some details. Despite that, though, this will be absurdly long. Sorry about that. Credit for the photography goes (mostly) to myself. Read more....

God save the Queen
By Rachael Brubaker

It was the Queen's birthday this past weekend, and we all got up early to go to the Trooping of the Colour, a.k.a. a parade for her outside of Buckingham Palace. It is a bit surreal seeing her, as well as Prince Charles and Prince William, since royalty, to me, seems so fairy-tale like nowadays. Read more....

Top Gun
By Ingrid Smith

The kick off of the World Cup was a pretty big deal to the group of 28 of us, the majority who can barely name a futbol player outside of Beckham. Read more...

Better Than Expected
By Dylan Maris

When I found out that I was going to be spending two months of my summer in London, I was pretty gosh darn excited. As any of my friends would tell you, I knew it was going to be an incredible experience and I did not to hesitate to talk, they might say gloat, about it. As the time for the trip to start came, my excitement was at a fever pitch Read more.....

Visit to Kew Gardens

The creative blog class visited Kew Gardens. This royal botanical garden was a great trip, even on a cloudy day in London. For many of the students it was their first excursion away from the activity of the city, a welcomed change of pace.

Walk Along the Thames

Our first group outing was a evening walk along the River Thames with Prof. Rustin Greene as our guide. The evening included dinner and a return walk home across the Millennium Bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral. It was a relaxing and wonderful evening.

We Have Arrived!

JMU students arrived in London on two different days. Seventeen students with internships arrived on Wednesday, June 2nd with the other eleven arriving on Friday, June 4th.

We are all here safely!
